Beyond The Boundaries Of Time

DAY 1: SAN JUAN.

Morning arrival into San Juan and transfer to your hotel. Tour of the city and surroundings, including the Auditorium Juan Victoria, Domingo Sarmiento’s birthplace, the Cathedral, the Museum of Urban Memory with its seismic simulator or Santiago Graffigna Museum and the Ullum Dam.

DAY 2: SAN JUAN - VILLA UNIÓN (B).

Depart to De La Luna Valley, also known as Ischigualasto Provincial Park, declared Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. During the tour, learn about famous landforms of this site, such us The Mushroom, the Submarine, the “Bochas” Court and Painted Valley. Visit the Site Museum William Sill, to see genuine fossils, and the Interpretative Center, and observe the timeline from the Triassic period up to present. Continue to Villa Unión.

DAY 3: VILLA UNIÓN (B, L).

Early morning, depart Villa Unión towards the spectacular De La Troya Gorge, passing Pyramid formations, a result of wind and water erosion. Slowly begin the ascent to the Andes Mountain Range via the Del Peñón Gorge, and arrive at the Portezuelo’s Lagoon, gate to the majestic Brava Lagoon. From October to March magnificent pink flamingos feed on plankton of icy salt water. Subject to the weather, reach the lagoon’s refuge, and observe striking peaks: the geysers of Brava Lagoon.

DAY 4: VILLA UNIÓN - LA RIOJA OR SAN JUAN (B).

Today visit Talampaya National Park, declared Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Observe geological formations of the Triassic period, different from Ischigualasto.  Take an internal tour, making stops at various stations, to appreciate how wind and water erosion shaped formations as The Gothic Cathedral, The Monk, The Tower, among others.  Transfer to La Rioja or San Juan for your flight or extend your trip.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Accommodation - 3 nights in minimum 4-star hotels.

Meals – As specified in the itinerary (B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner).

Luggage – One normal suitcase and one handbag per person included for hotel porterage.

Transfers – all airport transfers from arrival on Day 1 to final day (assuming specific group flights booked)

Tours (with local bilingual English-speaking guides) - San Juan: City tour, De La Luna Valley. La Rioja: Talampaya National Park, Brava Lagoon.
