Horseback Riding (The Mitre Peninsula)

DAY 1: USHUAIA (D).

Arrival into Ushuaia and transfer to the hotel. After an expedition briefing time at leisure to explore.

DAY 2: USHUAIA - PUESTO LA CHAIRA (B, L, D).

Today head to Estancia Maria Luisa, dedicated to cattle raising and logging. Horseback ride to Puesto La Chaira.

DAY 3: PUESTO LA CHAIRA - PUESTO RÍO BUENO (B, L, D).

Today begin the first long riding trail. Along the way, visit shipwrecks, such as the curious "Barca", an old wooden boat, buried by the sand of centuries.

DAY 4: PUESTO RÍO BUENO - ESTANCIA POLICARPO (B, L, D).

Today wade across the Buenos and Policarpo rivers, via several peat bogs the estancia, go through the wreck "Duquesa de Albania" (Albania’s Durchess). Before arriving at the estancia, see the "Falsa" cove and the old buildings of the estancia that was abandoned in the 1960s and declared a National Historic Landmark.

DAY 5: ESTANCIA POLICARPO - BAHÍA THETIS (B, L, D).

Along the journey today you will dismount several times due to the peat bogs, weather permitting. Arrive at Bahía Thetis.

DAY 6: BAHÍA THETIS (B, L, D).

Day at leisure. Walk to the Cape San Diego’s Lighthouse to enjoy a 360-degree view of the South Atlantic Ocean

DAY 7: BAHÍA THETIS (B, L, D).

Day at leisure. Take short walks and discover the real End of the World.

DAY 8: BAHÍA THETIS - ESTANCIA POLICARPO (B, L, D).

Today trek to Estancia Policarpo.

DAY 9: ESTANCIA POLICARPO - PUESTO RÍO BUENO (B, L, D).

Ride towards the Policarpo River and enjoy galloping moments. Lunch in the old of hull of the "Duquesa de Albania" (Albania’s Durchess). Continue to the Puesto.

DAY 10: PUESTO RÍO BUENO - PUESTO LA CHAIRA (B, L, D).

Explore the surroundings of Puesto Río Bueno followed by a walk to the Cape Leticia. Arrival at the Puesto La Chaira for the farewell dinner.

DAY 11: PUESTO LA CHAIRA - USHUAIA (B, L).

Return to Estancia María Luisa. Unsaddle and return to Ushuaia. Transfer to the airport or extend your trip.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Accommodation - 1 night in minimum 3-star hotel. 9 nights in a tent.

Meals - As specified in the itinerary (B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner).

Luggage - One 7kg rucksack/bag per person.

Transfers - all airport transfers from arrival on Day 1 to final day (assuming specific group flights booked).

Tours (with local bilingual English-speaking guides) - Tierra del Fuego: Guided horse treks and all equipment.

• Intermediate level required for horse riding - up to 7 hours riding per day.

• Camping sites are very isolated without sanitary facilities.

• It is recommended bringing a sleeping bag. Please advise if you are not able.

• Good physical condition is required for this tour.
