Mayan Heart

DAY 1: CANCUN.

Arrival into Cancun. Time at leisure to explore.

DAY 2: CANCUN - COBÁ - VALLADOLID - MERIDA (B).

Visit to the less known archaeological site of Coba. This ancient city was built around a group of lakes, and it was one of the greatest and most populated cities during the Maya era. Explore unrestored temples, hidden in the thick rainforest. Feeling brave - climb the great pyramid of Nohoch Mul, the highest Mayan structure at the Yucatan Peninsula. Continue to Valladolid, a charming little city with a very hospitable Mayan population, which preserves, the typical costumes from pre-Columbian era, especially in women’s clothing. Visit the Cathedral of Saint Bernardino with its splendid monastery, as well as an urban structure with picturesque narrow streets and beautiful buildings coloured in warm Mexican colours. Continue to Merida.

DAY 3: MERIDA - YAXCOPOIL - UXMAL - MERIDA (B).

This morning drive to Yaxcopoil, a restored 17th-century hacienda just outside of Merida. This vast estate grew and processed henequen, and many of its numerous French Renaissance-style buildings have been lovingly restored. Explore the superb interiors, and continue to the archaeological site of Uxmal. Explore the magnificent buildings, including the House of the Magician – which dominates the site, the Nunnery, and the House of Turtles. Return to Merida for the afternoon at leisure and explore the main attractions of the city, such as Montejo Walk, Santa Lucia Park and the main square.

DAY 4: MERIDA - CHICHEN-ITZA - RIVIERA MAYA OR TULUM (B).

Trip to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, located 120 km east of Merida. Chichen Itza is the best restored of Yucatan’s Mayan sites. Explore the magnificent ruins set in a dense jungle, including the Pyramid of Kukulcan, the Great Ball Court, and the Sacred Cenote. After Chichen Itza transfer to the beach location of your choice.

Accommodation - 3 nights in minimum 3-star hotels.

Luggage - One normal suitcase and one handbag per person
